Volunteer Orientation

Pilchuck’s Campus, Stanwood, Washington
The Annual Volunteer Orientation provides a great way to learn about Pilchuck’s rich history while getting to know fellow volunteers. The orientation is especially important as it enables new volunteers to tour the campus, receive an overview of the school’s artistic programs, and learn about the many exciting events planned throughout the year. Family and friends are welcome. Brunch is provided.

Spring Group Tours

Stanwood, Washington
VIP Tour Week is a week of outreach and cultivation for groups. It is one of the rare opportunities providing the community access Pilchuck Glass School’s campus. This event coincides with the creation of our auction centerpieces and is a great time to watch glassblowing. Tours are arranged throughout the week and volunteers assist with tours and serve as Pilchuck ambassadors.

Centerpiece Packing

Stanwood, Washington
This is a time to really become one with glass art! The centerpieces are the trademark of the fall gala auction and need to be catalogued and safely packed for storage. It’s a great time to be on campus and learn some of the tricks involved in packing glass art. This event is scheduled for the whole day but feel free to come for a couple of hours if you can’t stay all day. Lunch is provided.

Pilchuck Society Day

Stanwood, Washington
This exclusive benefit allows Pilchuck Society members to spend the afternoon on Pilchuck’s campus, tour the studios and view award-winning architecture, meet artists, watch glassblowing demonstrations, and view works on display in the Pilchuck Gallery. This event is free to Pilchuck Society members. Volunteers help answer questions about the campus, give tours, and staff the concession and membership tables. Volunteers meet on campus for a brunch and a briefing prior to staffing their stations for the afternoon.

Open House

Stanwood, Washington
Volunteers serve as ambassadors and hosts as Pilchuck opens its campus to the community. The Campus Open House provides a once-a-year opportunity for the public to visit Pilchuck Glass School’s award-winning facilities, meet artists, learn about glass, see works in progress, and observe hot- and cold- glass demonstrations. Volunteers participate in many of the same duties as Members’ Day and are integral in making the day run smoothly. Brunch is provided.
