Dolores Barrett discovered her penchant for visual arts in 1996. She developed her talent in porcelain portraiture, but was soon drawn to the intricacy and beauty of glass. Drawing from her world experiences, Dolores has devoted herself to incorporating these motifs in glass for personal adornment. She was selected as an Emerge finalist in 2004 , Ignite invitational exhibition 2006, received a partial scholarship to Pilchuck summer session in 2008, and is represented by several galleries.
The Pavane d’Or lariat necklace is inspired by Austrian painter, Gustav Klimt. Stylized peacock "feathers" feature 24K gold embedding and overlay. It is a tribute to the foundational influence of Nouveau and Deco on art today.
