A native of Munich, Germany, Maxi was a longtime Pacific Northwest resident
with an extensive background as an artist, graphic designer, art director,
and teacher. She began her involvement with Pilchuck Glass School in 1991,
returning as a scholarship student, teaching assistant, and visiting artist.
Her work in glass was as much an exploration of material as it was an expression
of her personal vision: “The unique ability of glass to both transmit
and reflect light has stimulated my concentration on its special rewards,
and I have pursued virtually every aspect of glass art. I especially enjoy
the opportunity to combine skills across media lines.” |
