Pilchuck Glass School Board Selects New Leaders, Salutes Retiring Trustees

Seattle, WA – December 7, 2004 – During its annual meeting on October 13, 2004, Pilchuck Glass School’s Board of Trustees selected a new slate of officers for 2005, elected seven trustees to serve additional three-year terms, and welcomed two new members to its Advisory Council.

The school’s officers for 2005 will be:
Patricia A. Wallace, President
Anthony Cole, Vice President
Ronald Crowell, Vice President
Kate Elliott, Vice President
Mark Hamilton, Vice President
John R. Price, Treasurer
Mathilde C. Brown, Secretary
R. Bryce Seidl, Immediate Past President

Jeffrey Atkin, C. Kent Carlson, Anthony Cole, Sarah Davies, Katherine Gray, John Ritchie, and Patricia A. Wallace were each elected to serve additional three-year terms. Trustees unanimously reinstated Joan Stonecipher, who was originally elected to Pilchuck’s board in 2000 but voluntarily suspended her term of service in 2002 when she relocated to Chicago, to serve the one year remaining on her original term of service.

Five trustees ended their service to Pilchuck Glass School in 2004. David Bennett, Dianne Loeb, Stuart Mandel, Robert J. Seidl and Samuel H. Smith received warm applause and recognition for their outstanding service to Pilchuck. Bennett and Seidl both served as board presidents during their tenures.

Two former trustees and artists central to Pilchuck’s development were selected to serve a three-year term on the school’s Advisory Council. Ginny Ruffner and William Morris will join the 24 current members of Pilchuck’s Advisory Council. Established in 1992, the council recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the growth of the school and enables them to continue their close relationship to the school while not burdening them with the responsibilities expected from trustees.
