Bandhu Dunham began
to explore lampworking in 1975 while still in high school.
After two years of self-instruction, he studied informally
with the chemistry department glassblowers as an undergraduate
at Princeton University. He later studied under American
and European masters at UrbanGlass, Pilchuck, and the
Penland School of Crafts. He is the author of Contemporary
Lampworking: A Practical Guide to Shaping Glass in the
Flame and Formed of Fire. Bandhu has been a student
and a teaching assistant at Pilchuck, and he has taught
at the Penland School of Crafts, The Studio at the Corning
Museum of Glass, and the Niijima Glass Art Center. His
work is included in collections in Canada, Japan, and
the United States.
