by familiarity, blend into the background of everyday existence.
Casting disposable items in permanent materials changes their
character allowing one to see them with fresh eyes.Julie studied
with Janusz Walentynowicz last summer at Pilchuck. In 2003,
She attended with a scholarship and was nominated for a Corning
Award by instructor Karen Lamonte. Other recent honors include:
Publication in New Glass Review #25 and a San Francisco Museum
of Modern Art SECA Award nomination. Her work is included
in numerous private collections, has been exhibited across
the United States; most extensively in the San Francisco Bay
Area.
