Ben Browne began working with
glass in autumn 2000. He started with a three-year apprenticeship
with Scott Bisson of Quantum Creative Glass. Ben’s apprenticeship
ended in 2003, and since then he has studied under Randal
Grubb, Ray Olsen, Cesare Toffolo, and Milon Townsend. In 2003,
Ben was a teaching assistant for Milon Townsend, and in winter
2004, he had a two and a-half-month residency with Townsend
Associates. He chose glass as a medium for its expansive possibilities
and longevity. Recently, he has been inspired by the process
of glass sculpture encapsulated in Schott crystal.
