In Joseph’s Pride,
Jackie Beckman implements uncommon variations in surfaces
and textures, which, although allowed by the medium,
are unexpected. Her current series explores the transformation
of glass from its perceived state of translucence and
gloss into an explosion of color with a less glasslike
appearance. She continues to strive for a sense of joy,
vibrancy, and excitement in her work and derives great
pleasure from knowing her art makes people smile. Beckman
majored in art at Columbia College in Chicago and studied
glass under several master kiln formers after moving
to Arizona, where she operates her studio, Total Con-Fusion.
Her work is held in private collections across the United
States.
