The Lens Tablet series was
inspired by the psychological condition known as multiple
personality disorder. Thor Bueno was introduced to hot glass
in 1979, and his art has ranged from functional, decorative,
and object as sculpture to installation and time-based works.
After studying with Italo Scanga, Bueno received his B.F.A.
from the University of California at San Diego, and was recently
awarded an M.F.A. in glass from Alfred University. Bueno has
attended Pilchuck almost every summer since 1986, as a scholarship
student, teaching assistant, artist's assistant, and staff
member. A founding member of the B Team, Bueno received a
Louis Comfort Tiffany Award and a Bessie from the New York
Dance Theater Workshop. He has conducted workshops and classes
at many institutions, including UrbanGlass, the University
of California at San Diego, Alfred University, and the Glass
Furnace in Istanbul.
