Red/Red 'Ball' continues Jane Bruce’s interest in the nature of layering and through this layering the relationship of inside to outside. Bruce is a studio artist currently teaching at the Canberra School of Art, Australian National University and is also the artistic director of North Lands Creative Glass in Scotland. She has an M.A. from the Royal College of Art, London, and did postgraduate study at the New York State College of Ceramics. Bruce was awarded two Masterworks Fellowships at the Creative Glass Center of America and grants from the New York State Council for the Arts and the Australia Council. She has taught extensively, including at Pilchuck Glass School, Espace Verre, Montreal, and AR.CO, Lisbon. Her work is in many major public collections around the world.
