Jeanne Brennan

Inner Offering
21h x 8w x 4d. Signed. 2003.
$2,250

Blown glass, forged copper, and steel.

In the artist's words, the bird in this work serves as "a vessel to encase and entomb images and objects. This form evolved to symbolize paying attention to the subtle beauty and horror in life, both external and internal. These pieces evoke possibility and potential, as well as loss and decay." Jeanne Brennan earned a B.F.A. in sculpture from the University of California, Davis. She has served in a variety of capacities at Pilchuck over the last six years. Her work is exhibited throughout the United States, and she currently lives and works on nearby Whidbey Island.
