Balancing Man represents
David Bennett’s new work combining glass and bronze
in the hot-blowing process, which extends techniques
developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and the Daums. A
trip to Murano in 1987 inspired Bennett, then a trial
lawyer, to pursue an education in glass. He studied
at Pilchuck and on Murano with artists such as Pino
Signoretto and Robert Carlson. He is a member and past
president of Pilchuck's Board of Trustees. Bennett's
widely collected work has been featured in Glass magazine.
